我住在密西根福林特，今年我想在聖誕節的時候 一個人自助旅行到芝加哥遊玩 日期大約是定在12/23~ 12/29
我想問的問題是：
1.冬天的時候，適合到芝加哥遊玩嗎? 還是我該選其他的地方比較適合?? 如果真的不適合的話，請列舉嚕 ^^ <我不想到加州，其他鄰近密西根州的我都可以接受 ps因為預算有限>
2.像是西北大學、Sears Towers、Art Institute、康乃爾大學等等這些地方會不會彼此都離很遠?
3. 如我我真的到了芝加哥，有甚麼是我需要注意的嗎?
4. 除了我已po的地點外 ，還有甚麼是我遺漏的好地點，是我一個禮拜可到的了的地方的??
5. 還有介紹不錯的hotel吧，但我希望能便宜一點的嚕 最好是青年旅館的 ^^

You will need a car, rental or taxi, to get around in the city. On weekdays, street metered parking is impossible to find. Garage parking starts at about $13 for the first half hour, and max out at about $24 or more for 8 or more hours. Cheaper during weekends. Alternative is to take el (CTA trains), or buses, if you can figure out what goes where. I usually drive, and only take el to avoid crazy downtown traffic on 4th of July and New Year Eve.

Winter weather in midwest is about the same. Chicago can get really cold and windy around and after Xmas. However, it was really warm last Xmas, around and above 40F. Weather is usually the main factor turning people away. If you can handle cold weather in Michigan, you should be fine with winer weather in Chicago.

Northwestern is in Evanston, about 30 mins north of Chicago downtown. Sears Tower is in financial district, south of Chicago river (Wacker Drive). Art Institute is on Michigan Ave, also south of the river. Art Institute is about 20 mins walk away from Sears Tower.
康乃爾 (Cornell?) is in NY.

AVOID the south side. Areas outside or south of U of Chicago campus and Museum of Science and Industry. Especially not in the night. Very ghetto. Since you travel alone, use common sense when it comes to personal safety.

Lakeshore Drive (nice view of the lake), Planetarium (nice city skyline, the most amazing, beautiful city skyline in the States), Soldier Field (home to Bears), Shedd Aquarium, Millennium Park (with a iceskating ring, winter only, weather permitting), Grant Park (for Buckingham fountain).

Water Tower, Navy Pier, Chinatown, Greek town (on Halsted near Jackson, plenty of Greek restaurants), Wrigley Field (home to Cubs), Michigan Ave (north of river to Lakeshore Drive for stores and street lights), Uno pizzaria on Ohio (for its famous deep dish), Lincoln Park (for its night scenes).

If you still have time to kill:
Schaumburg (Gameworks and Woodfield mall, off 290 exit 1A), Arlington Heights (Mitsuwa, a Japanese supermarket, grocery store + bookstore + liquor store + food court, off 90 Arlington Heights exit).

幾乎沒戶外活動.若開車來.park 90/94附近($6-10),在走進downtown.或park在IIT 附近,take green line 進城,35街(不含)以北基本上無安全問題
查看看free trolly還有沒有,free trolly 以downtown 為主,每小時一班.u of chicago可以用 lake shore 進出.沒有安全問題.
六日還在的話,到宏緣(頂好)超市/westmont吃個飯團及臭豆腐.是chicago的小台北,很慘只有3-4攤.
chinatown紅線可達,其實是廣東town.台灣人只剩一家海霸王.別想錯了不是火鍋店.且不是很好吃.
blue man show,你可以考慮$50,有時當天可買到$25.
chicago 有名的是建築及博物館,大部份的博物館周二免費,你可以上網查.夠你花2-3天看這些了.
全世界第一家McDonald,位Des Plains, Ord 機場西北.
住的方面價格不便宜.
個人建議,租車然後找交區hotel.你可以走的範為較廣.大部份人能建議的我不再重覆.
shopping mall我建議還是去一趟吧!年終跳樓大特價.機會不多.
michigan city(MI),woodfield(Schuamburg)近mituwa超市chicago 西北30m,prime outlet(Aurora)chicago 西邊40m及WI/chicago北邊70m,Gurnee outlet/chicago北邊60m
若不租車且chicago 以外,你可考慮amtrak,15天票.好像半價且可遊整個東岸.及中部
夏天的chicago好的沒話說,你可考慮到時再來.
